Switzerland - à bientôt! : Continuing Last Day
Though the city itself is completely stunning, the most memorable thing that always made me, and still make me smile, is that when a two or three-year-old boy, suddenly ran across the street, and hugged me! He then ran back to his mom on the other side of the street. It happened in front of the capitol (picture above), where you can see children were playing as water squirting from...

Switzerland - Bundesstadt! : Last Day
Friday, August 12th 2011
These are basically some collections of the photos that I took in Bern, the capital of Switzerland.
The Papa Bear above can be seen in Bärenpark, in Bern, and strategically located nearby the river, which also has an astonishing view like the second photo. There are two other baby bears separated from the Papa Bear, but they’ll be moved out soon because...

Switzerland - Rösti! : Continuing Day 3
The next thing we do after went over Thun was going to Niesen. We took the train from Thun to Mülenen, and then took a funicular to the top of Niesen. Other alternative is to hike, which took about five-hour of hiking, considering that Niesen is 2362 meters above the sea level. It has a perfect shape like a pyramid, and the view from the top of the mountain is strikingly mesmerizing. After seeing...

Switzerland - Fondue! : Day 3
— Continuing Wednesday, August 10th 2011
At home, Christine’s Family and Tobias, Lea’s boyfriend, were busy preparing fondue, a typical Swiss and French of melted cheese in commuted pot eaten by dipping chopped breads using a long fork into the cheese pot - strikingly delicious. It was my first fondue and truly was a very Swiss experience!

Switzerland - Apfelschorle! : Day 2
— Continuing Tuesday, August 9th 2011
Around seven o’clock in the evening, Christine and I arrived at her gorgeous house with an astonishing view, as you can see gloriously soaring mountains from her balcony. Steffisburg, the name of her hometown if you ever wondering. Not long, Mr. and Mrs. Kneubühler came from work, and we ate a real Suisse curry of chicken, kiwis, bananas, and...

Switzerland - Voilà! : Day 1
Tuesday, 9th August 2011
First day in Switzerland and I’m falling in love with it. After a crippling 11 hours journey by the train from Utrecht, I finally arrived at Basel, Switzerland, at 7 o’clock in the morning. I Whatsapp-ed a good Suisse friend of mine, Christine Kneubühler, to let her know that I’m visiting her!
We startred our day with really cheap breakfast (6...

european reunion part 2
Last Tuesday, August 2nd 2011, Thomas, Thedmer and I went to Utrecht, Netherlands, to meet up after three months apart from each other! Both of them went back to the Netherlands right after the winter quarter in Foothill ended. We decided to meet in Utrecht Centraal Station by 2.30 in the afternoon, because Thomas had to work in the morning.
It took 40 minutes from Den Haag Centraal Station,...

Loanshark and Philistinism: The Catastrophe of...
Should I donate and join my school’s microcredit club? Should I support Safeway by donating $5 for their microcredit program? Those two options always get me into a dilemma. Not that I don’t care about those poor people that could benefit from microloans, but my concern is rather towards whether the advisor of microcredit club, which was my economic instructor whom I know pretty well, would think...

european reunion part 1
July, 21st 2011
My third day in Netherlands, precisely in Rijswijk, a small suburban near the capital, Den Haag. Me, Lotte and Thedmer were planning to meet up in Amsterdam, which is 50 minutes away from my place, perhaps only 10 minutes from Lotte’s, and an hour from Thedmer’s place. A day before, we were all in agreement that we’ll meet up at 11.00 am and they (Lotte and Thed)...

Oh! Happy Mother's day, MOMMA!
You nag me a lot. You drive me crazy. You make me angry. You take care of me. You give advices to me. You love me indefinitely. I know that I haven’t been a really good and perfect son, but I wish you nothing but the best, and I love you always. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY MOMMA!

A Bitter Clash: Comparing Motivation in Eastern...
Imagine that you’re a 6-year-old elementary school student – this should be relatively easy for you. But, what is coming next might be a bit hard, especially if you were born and raised in a traditional American family. Imagine your mom sitting beside you while you’re playing the piano, and all of a sudden she squawks, “Oh my God, you’re getting worse and worse.” Or even more harshly, “If the...

The Lost Brothers: How a pig met his doppelganger
—This post is about my High School friend’s doppelganger, I made up the stories, but they really are doppelganger, very similar, I even amazed myself! So if you’re not curious about how similar they are, don’t bother to read the post :)
At first, Stephanus Widjaja wasn’t expecting something incredible happened to him as he moved from Jakarta to Sydney to continue his...

perpetual grief
Dear Lord,
This morning, I begged you to take out the people who had tremendous impacts in my life out of my brain, I begged you to take out the people who had left major scar damages in my heart out of my chest, I begged you to take out all of my pains and sorrows underneath my skin that I’ve retained for all these years, I begged you to take every microscopic details of my memories with...

the book of recurrent dreams
4:512 - The dream of sex without pain. I dreamt four nights ago of clock hands descending from universe like rain, of moon as a green eye, of mirrors and insects, of a love that never withdrew. It was not the feeling of not being empty.
4:513 - The dream of angels dreaming of men. It was during an afternoon nap that I dreamt of a ladder. Angels were sleepwalking up and down the rungs, their eyes...

moo-nster
Like gulping couple shots of whiskey, it started fun but ceased either with smiles, or regrets. Plenty ended with smiles, but, mostly, only regrets. Either for sipping and enjoying them at the outset, or for the foolish, humiliating actions we did while we were tipsy.
And as for love, ineffable beforehand, but so much like whiskey, it conjures us, makes us capable of doing silly, wacky things...

nastalogy (: nasty analogy)
Butts…, 2 half-rounded, chewy like portions, anatomically located on the posterior of pelvic region. They consist of 2 muscles named idontknow and idontcare, and between them, there is a horrendous tiny hole called ASSHOLE. Frankly, before I wrote this thingy, I googled the thing and it came up with a bunch of list of people using Butts as their surname (e.g Politicians, Poets, Pornographic...

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
Of quiet birds in circle flight.
I am the soft star that shines on night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not...
