    european reunion part 2

Last Tuesday, August 2nd 2011, Thomas, Thedmer and I went to Utrecht, Netherlands, to meet up after three months apart from each other! Both of them went back to the Netherlands right after the winter quarter in Foothill ended. We decided to meet in Utrecht Centraal Station by 2.30 in the afternoon, because Thomas had to work in the morning.

It took 40 minutes from Den Haag Centraal Station, where I was going to take my train, to Utrecht Centraal Station, so, I left home at 1 o’clock, hoping that I would catch the 13.36 train thus arriving in Utrecht by 14.16, however, I arrived from my grandparents’ house to Den Haag Centraal Station at 13.20, and there was also an earlier train that went to Utrecht Centraal at 13.23. I accidentally took the earlier train without looking at my watch, thus, I arrived at Utrecht Centraal Station by 14.03, then I waited for almost 40 minutes for them to find me. (My stupid American Phone doesn’t let me to change my AT&T SIM Card to some Netherlands’ number).

It was a very warm and very sunny day in Utrecht. Our tour guide, Thomas, who wasn’t that familiar with the city took me and Thedmer around the centrum, and to the Oude Kerk (Old Church), in the middle of the city. Afterwards, we went in-and-out to some shops for a little while, as Thomas and Thedmer were crazy about Vanz shoes, then we went to HEMA, a very dutch store, to buy some drinks and to chat for a bit. By dinner time, around six o’clock in the evening, Thomas took us to a very nice restaurant by the canal to eat pancakes, if you’re curious, the restaurant is called De Oude Muntkelder, and it has various different kinds of pancakes, from Indonesian to Egyptians pancakes.

It was truly an awesome day!
